About Shina

My highest value is for my clients to feel safe, seen, and heard. In a world where authenticity is often obscured, I offer a space where you can be your genuine self, supported with warmth, validation, and compassion. This environment is crafted to empower you with the strength and resilience needed to navigate each day.

I engage with clients through thoughtful questioning, active listening, problem-solving, and providing insightful feedback. My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally affirming, and relationally based. I adopt a flexible, collaborative, and conversational style. My aim is to assist you in exploring and addressing the messages from your past, responding compassionately to your inner critic, and overcoming unproductive patterns.

I strive to help you create space for and address pain and hurt. By giving these emotions a voice, we become more aware of your physical and emotional state, enabling us to confront and embrace discomfort and uncertainty. I am committed to supporting you throughout your journey, facilitating your growth, and fostering healthier coping strategies.

As your therapist, my goal is to provide a safe environment where comfort and healing can enable you to experience and express yourself authentically, guiding you towards a more genuine engagement with the world.

Fun facts about me

  • I have a twin sister, and I’m the older one by a whole two minutes—so basically, I’m the VIP of our duo. My parents had no clue they were in for a double surprise until the big day. Talk about a plot twist!!

  • I’m a fan of scary movies, roller coasters, and haunted houses—basically, if it gives you adrenaline and makes you scream, I’m in.

  • When I’m not scaring myself silly, I’m binge-watching Korean dramas. My top picks? "Crash Landing On You," "Daily Dose of Sunshine," "Divorce Attorney Shin," "Doctor Cha," and "Queen of Tears." They’re like potato chips for the soul—once you start, you can’t stop!

  • I’m married with two girls who are 21 months apart. It’s like living in a non-stop episode of a reality show—minus the cameras, but with all the drama and fun.

“Just imagine becoming the way you used to be as a very young child, before you understood the meaning of any word, before opinions took over your mind. The real you is loving, joyful, and free. The real you is just like a flower, just like the wind, just like the ocean, just like the sun.”
